WAA Result for Sat 6^th Dec 2008

Fished on W,sey dyke Pegs 271 to 281

Bright sunny but cold conditions with a tinge of colour in the water and it flowing as normal.

1^st Simon Godfrey  9lb 1oz    All small fish with pinkie over ground bait on the pole.

2^nd Frank Bev        8lb 8oz   All small fish taken on the pole with pinkie over ground bait

3^rd Paul Wright       8lb 5oz   All small fish taken on the pole with pinkie over ground bait.

The first three were in the middle of the match length sitting next to each other

Over 60lb of fish taken between the 10 anglers

WAA Result for Sat 29^th Nov 2007

Fish at the Carrot Wash in winter conditions of fog and just above freezing point temperatures.

Water is cloudy but having no flow. All the fish appeared to be close to the bridge as the 1^st three anglers caught from the start although slowly and the other end peg waiting until 1.30 to get the first bites as the fish moved away from the bridge.

1^st Dave Jarrett     7lb 13oz     2 Tench to 3lb on the worm in the last half hour and the rest small fish on the pole with pinkie

WAA Result for Sat 22^nd Nov 2008

Fished on W,sey Dyke behind Carpet City pegs 265 to 277 in a very cold and strong North wind blowing down the drain.

1^st Simon Godfrey   11lb 1oz   All small fish on the pole with pinkie over ground bait.

2^nd Paul Wright       7lb            All small fish with pinkie on the whip over ground bait & Hemp

3^rd Terry Tribe        6lb 15oz   All small fish taken on the whip with pinkie over ground bait & Hemp

 Winning weights were from around the corner out of the wind but they had pike problems due to the amount of fish gathered there.

Fished at the Carrot wash with very coloured water after heavy rain during the week resulting in high water levels throughout the Middle Level Drain System but no flow and a strong downstream wind making presentation of bait difficult.

1^st Andy Bull           9lb 2oz             2 Tench to 4lb each on worm and maggot and the rest small fish taken on the pole with pinkie.

2^nd Simon Godfrey  3lb 1oz             All small fish taken on the pole with pinkie over ground bait.

Fished on W,sey Dyke at the rear of Queensway with near ideal winter conditions.

Although the fish were hard to get started it took a couple of boats to get them to feed.

WAA Result for Sat 25^th Oct 2008

Fished around the bridges at Beggars Bridge on the twenty foot drain.

Water clear and still and with a very strong wind.

1^st Paul Wright      10lb 10oz    5 metre whip to hand to avoid the Pike with an all small fish catch on pinkie & maggot

2^nd John Hudson    9lb 7oz   All small fish on the whip with maggot over ground bait

3^rd Martin Howard 7lb 12oz   All small fish on the pole with maggot over groundbait

4^th Dave White       7lb 8oz    Mixed bag of Perch to 1.8lb on the worm and Rudd on the maggot over ground bait.

WAA Result for Sat 11^th Oct 2008

Fished on the W,sey Dyke in summer like conditions light wind and bright sun, slow moving water and colour the setting looked perfect and by the final call the match men were not disappointed considering it being a four hour match.

1^st place went to Paul Wright fishing the end peg with 12lb 8oz all small fish caught on the whip and pole with maggot over ground bait.

2^nd place went to Bob Thornton fishing next to the wires with 10lb 13oz all small fish on the whip with maggot over ground bait

3^rd place went to Andy Lawrence on the other end peg with an all small fish weight of 8lb 9oz all taken on the whip with pinkie.

WAA Result for Sat 13^th Sept 2008

Fished on the Twenty Foot River at Poplartree Bridge.

Water had a tinge of colour but no flow and bright sunshine throughout the match.

1^st John Hudson     3lb 12oz     All small fish on the pole with pinkie over goundbait.

2^nd Paul Wright      3lb 8oz       All small fish with a couple of bonus Perch to 12oz

3^rd Mark Chesters  2lb 9oz       All small fish taken on the waggler with pinkie.

Fished on W,sey Dyke Downstream of Ashline Lock in wet and windy conditions with flowing water and plenty of colour ideal conditions was what the anglers thought but bites were hard to come by and no big fish put to the scales although two were lost.

1^st Mark Chesters   2lb 12oz     All small fish taken on the whip with pinkie.

2^nd Paul Wright       2lb 7oz       All small fish with a bonus Perch and Eel on the pole.

3^rd John Hudson      2lb 5oz       All small fish with a bonus Eel on the pole.

Fished on the Twenty Foot Drain at Goosetree Corner

In sunny and windy conditions without any water movement making it difficult to catch with only one big fish recorded.

1^st John Hudson      6lb 5oz       1 Tench to 5lb on the worm rig and the rest small fish taken on the pole with pinkie.

2^nd Frank Bev         3lb 6oz       All small fish taken on the pole with pinkie

WAA Result for Sat 9^th Aug 2008

Fished in heavy rain and a strong down the drain wind made bait presentation difficult, where several decent fish were lost mostly on the whip lines.

1^st Dave White             7lb 13oz     2 Tench 1 at 3.8lb & 2.8 lb on the worm line and the rest Rudd & Roach on the whip.

2^nd Paul Wright            3lb 13 oz         All small fish taken on the whip with pinkies

Fished on W,sey Dyke with flow and coloured water the match started with overcast sky and then bright sunshine.

1^st Paul Wright      8lb 11oz     1 Bream to 3.8lb and the rest smaller skimmers and roach

2^nd John Hudson   6lb 12oz     With a mixed net of Eels, skimmers and roach

3^rd Frank Bev       4lb2oz        A mixed net of skimmers and roach

Junior winner Sam Boon 10oz paired up with Andy Bull for a total weight of 2lb 15oz to take the pairs shield.

Fished on W,sey Dyke at the rear of Queensway in very hot sunny conditions but with coloured water and flow.

1^st Bob Thornton      17lb 6oz    Catch included 3 Bream to 3.8lb 4 Eels on the worm line and the rest small fish on the pole with pinkie.

2^nd Frank Bev            3lb 13oz  All small fish taken on the pole with pinkie.

3^rd Paul Wright           3lb 6oz    Catch included 2 small Eels and the rest small fish on the pole with pinkie.

Fished on the 20 foot drain at Poplartree Bridge in very strong winds and storms

No Flow on the water but with a tinge of colour.

1^st  Dereke York     9lb 5oz    1 Bream to 4lb 10oz and the rest small fish

2^nd Mark Chesters  5lb 5oz    1 Tench to 3.8lband the rest small fish on the pole.

3^rd Mick Duell         4lb 14oz  1 Tench to 4lb and the rest skimmers and small fish

Fished at Holloways Bridge in ideal conditions where the most action seen was on the two either end pegs.

1^st  Dave White     3lb 12oz    1 Tench to 3lb on worm and the rest roach on pinkie & the whip.

2^nd Roger Biddle  3lb 11 oz    1 Bream to 3lb and a few Perch and Roach

Fished on Glassmoor bank with very clear water and no flow in full sun looked and made bites difficult.

Fished at Butlers Mill with a nice colour and flow but presentation made difficult by the wind and flow with a lot of underwater lily.

Fished at Infields Bridge with clear water and a slight flow on a dull and overcast day.
